About Coach Henderson
A Level 4 USA Hockey Coach, I am currently an Assistant with the Columbus Mavericks USPHL Premier team, focusing on video and analytics. I also work with goaltenders within the Mavericks youth organization and scout high school and travel leagues in the Columbus and Northern Ohio regions.
Originally from South PA/Central NJ, I grew up playing street & roller hockey leagues until the age of 18. I moved to Ohio to attend Bowling Green State University where I played goalie for the Club Falcons. After attending BGSU, I returned to roller hockey where I played in leagues in Michigan and Arizona.

I got my coaching start as a roller hockey instructor in Phoenix before eventually returning to Ohio. Once back in Bowling Green, I started working with ice hockey goaltenders in the BG Youth Hockey travel program and for the BGSU Women's Program.

I eventually moved to Columbus, OH and immediately began working with youth organizations and high school teams as an independent goalie coach. After a few years, I began moving up the coaching ladder. I was able to join a full-time coaching staff as a goalie coach, then becoming a full assistant coach, and eventually getting an opportunity as a head coach.
Over the last two decades, I have coached at various levels from Bantam House to ACHA D1 Women's programs. A timeline of my coaching career can be found below.

Columbus Mavericks - USPHL Premier Asst. Coach, Video & Analytics High School Scout Coach Henderson was hired to run the Video and Analytics aspect of the Mavericks Premier team as well as provide on-ice instruction. Coach Henderson will also be helping the EYHA Mavericks Youth program and the U16 & U14 travel teams as a roving coach. On top of this, Coach Henderson will scout/recruit the OHSAA High School league from Columbus to North Ohio.
Maine Jr. Mariners - U18AAA Asst. Coach, Defense Asst. Coach, Video & Analytics A member of the Jr. Mariners Inaugural Coaching staff. Responsible for video work with all skaters, as well as independent statistical analysis. Responsible for helping the defensemen and helping the team penalty kill.
St. Francis De Sales - Varsity, HS Head Coach Led the SFD hockey program for a 2 year run that ended with an 8-win season (the most wins for the program since 2014) and a 3rd-place tournament finish (First trophy in the case since 2014).
PHA Prowlers - Jr. Varsity, HS Head Coach Ran the Prowlers Junior Varsity hockey progam.
Ohio St. University - ACHA Women's Head Coach Led the Buckeyes for three seasons, improving their record for 3 seasons in a row.
CIHC - Jr. Varsity, HS Asst. Coach Assistant coach for the Columbus Ice Hockey Club Junior Varsity High School team. Responsible for the Defense, Goaltenders, and the PK.
Northeast Storm - Jr. Varsity, HS Asst. Coach Assistant coach for the Columbus Ice Hockey Club Junior Varsity High School team. Responsible for the Defense, Goaltenders, and the PK.
Various Teams Goaltending Coach Coached the goaltenders for various teams/organizations including: * BGSU Women's ACHA * Bowling Green Youth Travel * Columbus Capitals Youth Travel * Columbus Ice Hockey Club Youth * Easton Youth Hockey Association * Gahanna-Lincoln, Varsity and JV * PRPC Prowlers, Jr. Varsity Graduated multiple goaltenders to play in high levels of hockey including taking players from youth House to AAA and Junior Hockey.
